Start a focused entry page from layouts/index.html. The page introduces one clear purpose, leads with a primary call to action, and uses a small number of supporting links or cards without becoming a second site map.

Authoring boundary#

Use card and cards when Markdown needs an intentional linked grid. Add a new layout only when the page has a durable content model that the home template cannot express.
